Britain’s Top Employers 2008 has just been published. It is the eighth edition of this annual survey into best HR practice in the UK.
Britain’s Top Employers™ is a project that delves into the heart of employer intelligence through the HR Benchmark™ research process. It identifies the very best employers in the country and showcases their profiles as the best organisations to work for.
The project combines powerful resources: CRF’s global research expertise, a panel of leading independent expert advisers on HR issues, and top business journalists.
Companies participate in Britain’s Top Employers to enhance their reputation. Reputations that are independently judged, professionally benchmarked, and internationally recognised as being among the best employers in the UK.
The criteria that CRF uses in its research carefully combine the best in professional HR practice and the qualities that employees look for in a great employer. The criteria are Pay & Benefits; Career Opportunity and Training; Knowledge Management; Employee Relations; Diversity; Leadership; Corporate Social Responsibility; and Environmental Sustainability.
This year, CRF launched its new benchmarking facility, HR Benchmark™. Using the research criteria, each company can receive a report that compares its own performance against the average of its handpicked peers, and against the average of the industry as a whole. HR Benchmark™ has been extremely well received by participating organisations.
As always, the publication side of the project uses leading business writers and journalists, who visit the companies, observe and interview, and then prepare an independent, 1800-word profile on that company. The profiles, along with the research ratings, are reproduced in the book, ‘Britain’s Top Employers,’.
For the second consecutive year, Hydrogen took the prestigious award of Britain’s Top Employer, with an impressive average score of 86.87% against the research criteria. In second place was RLB Rider Levet Bucknall (83.42%) and in third, Camelot Group (82.63%).
The initial research stage of Britain’s Top Employers 2009 is already underway. Companies wishing to participate should contact [who?] at CRF in the UK.
Ends.
